Tour of Lisbon on Christmas Day

Visiting Lisbon on Christmas Day was a great pleasure not only for Amarilis and Javier (mother and son), from the USA, but for myself, an inhabitant of this city, too.
The month of December has been beautiful, but the blue sky and light, so characteristic of Portugal, were particularly special, this day.
Although the day was a little cool, with these weather conditions, it is impossible to visit Lisbon without a smile on your face and a warm soul.

walking the streets of Lisbon, you will surely "stumble" on one of the many buildings partially or totally covered with tiles.

        The tradition of using tiles is very old in Portugal and it was, initially, of arabic production. 

                                               

These azulejos can be found on the facade of a building, near the cathedral.

ALFAMA. The oldest quarter of Lisbon. When the sun is shining (and it happens 300 days/year) people put the washing hanging outside.
